Reporting Illegal and Harmful Content

Discovering non-consensual explicit images, AI-generated deepfakes, copyright theft, impersonation accounts, or illegal material requires swift reporting to platform trust and safety teams, dedicated specialized clearinghouses, and law enforcement authorities.

Specialized Emergency Reporting Portals

Non-Consensual Explicit Media and AI Deepfakes

  • StopNCII.org: If non-consensual intimate images or AI deepfakes of adults have been uploaded or threatened to be shared, submit hashes (digital fingerprints) directly via StopNCII.org. Operating platforms (Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Bumble) use these hashes to prevent image upload and remove existing copies automatically without viewing raw files.
  • Take It Down (NCMEC): For victims under 18 years of age, submit image hashes to TakeItDown.ncmec.org (operated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) to remove explicit content across participating global platforms.

Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

  • Report any suspected child exploitation material immediately to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or by calling 1-800-843-5678 in the United States, or contact your national police authority. Do not save, copy, or forward child exploitation files under any circumstances.

Reporting Impersonation and Defamation

When malicious accounts copy your photos, name, and bio to scam others or damage your reputation: - Visit the platform impersonation report page (e.g., instagram.com/help or facebook.com/help). - Upload a government-issued photo ID side-by-side with your face if requested to verify identity. - Notify friends and followers from your authentic profile to report the fake page for impersonation.

If someone steals your original photography, artwork, or video content: - Submit a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Takedown Notice through the platform official copyright form. - Provide direct web links (URLs) to your original work and the infringing link, along with your contact details and legal signature under penalty of perjury.
