• The call center transmits an electronic urgent consult directly to the Homeless Coordinator at the VA Medical Center covering your zip code.
• By VA directive, the local VA Homeless Team must attempt to contact you within one business day (and immediately refers after-hours street emergencies to local 24-hour contract shelters or crisis lines).

• Free hot showers, laundry machines, and clean clothing: Most CRRCs and VAMC homeless hubs have private shower rooms, washers and dryers with free detergent, and a clothing closet stocked with boots, socks, winter coats, and interview attire.
• H-PACT (Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team) walk-in medical and dental care: You do not need an appointment laid out weeks in advance. H-PACT doctors and nurses treat trench foot, infected wounds, diabetes, hypertension, and dental pain on a walk-in basis, and can immediately replace lost eyeglasses, hearing aids, inhalers, and prescription medications at the VA pharmacy window.
• On-site Coordinated Entry and Housing Navigators: Social workers at the CRRC complete your housing assessment on the spot, match you to an open GPD Bridge Housing bed or HCHV bed that afternoon, and assign a Housing Navigator to help you find a landlord who accepts SSVF or HUD-VASH vouchers.

• General (Under Honorable Conditions) Discharges: A General discharge is 100 percent eligible for VA health care, SSVF, GPD transitional housing, HCHV shelters, and HUD-VASH permanent housing vouchers. (The only major benefit a General discharge affects is the Post-9/11 GI Bill educational benefit).
• Other Than Honorable (OTH) Discharges:
  1. SSVF (Motel Vouchers, Rapid Re-Housing, and Eviction Prevention): Under 38 U.S.C. § 2044, the statutory definition of "veteran" for SSVF requires only a discharge "under conditions other than dishonorable", and by long-standing VA interpretation and program policy, veterans with an Other Than Honorable (OTH) administrative discharge are eligible for SSVF housing assistance in most grantees' jurisdictions unless barred by a specific statutory exclusion (such as a Dishonorable discharge from a General Court-Martial).
  2. Free Emergency Suicide Care (COMPACT Act) & MST Counseling: Any former service member with an OTH discharge (who served more than 100 days and deployed or experienced crisis) qualifies for free emergency suicide stabilization under the COMPACT Act, and any veteran regardless of discharge status or length of service qualifies for free Military Sexual Trauma (MST) counseling and treatment at any VA facility or Vet Center (1-877-927-8387).
  3.
