Evdən uzaqda itirilmiş və ya oğurlanmış telefon: addım-addım

Təcili yardım nömrələri ölkəyə görə fərqlənir. Bu səhifə ABŞ və Kanada üçün 911 rəqəmindən istifadə edir. Bir çox başqa ölkələr 112, 999 və ya başqa bir rəqəmdən istifadə edirlər. Ölkəniz üçün nömrəni tapın.

Losing your phone far from home is stressful, because the device holds your contacts, tickets, maps, payment cards and the codes that unlock your accounts. The first hour matters most. Acting quickly can help you get the phone back, and it can stop a thief from reaching your money, your messages and your identity.

This guide gives you a calm order of steps: stay safe, try to find the phone, lock it, report it, protect your accounts and payments, get in touch with people, and replace it. It also explains how to manage when you are away from home with no phone, no easy way to sign in and perhaps no wallet. If your wallet and documents were taken as well, read lost wallet and stolen ID recovery alongside this page.

Bunu indi edin

  1. Do not confront anyone and do not chase a thief. A phone can be replaced. If someone took it by force, move to a safe public place and report the crime. Read the safety section below.
  2. Retrace your steps for five minutes. Check the pockets and bag, the table, the seat and the last shop or taxi. Many phones are only misplaced.
  3. Borrow a phone or use a computer to ring your number. Ask a stranger, a shop worker or hotel staff. A ringing phone can lead you to it, or someone honest may answer.
  4. Sign in to Find My (Apple) or Find Hub (Google) from another device. Mark the phone as lost to lock it, and display a message with a contact number. Do not go alone to a place the map shows if it feels unsafe.
  5. Xətti dayandırmaq üçün mobil operatorunuza zəng edin. Bu, zəngləri, mətnləri və data ödənişlərini dayandırır və hesabın ələ keçirilməsinin qarşısını alır. Onlardan telefonun oğurlanması halında onun IMEI-ni (avadanlıq identifikatoru) bloklamağı xahiş edin.
  6. Hesablarınızı və kartlarınızı qoruyun. Əvvəlcə Apple və ya Google hesabınız və e-poçtunuz üçün parolu dəyişin. Bankın veb saytından və ya yardım xəttindən bank kartlarınızı və ödəniş proqramlarınızı kilidləyin və ya dondurun.

Əvvəlcə təhlükəsiz olun

Telefon götürən insanlar adətən təhlükəli deyillər, lakin bəzi hallarda təhlükəlidirlər. Təhlükəsizliyiniz istənilən cihazdan əvvəl gəlir.

  • Sizi qarət ediblərsə və ya hədələyiblərsə, təhlükəsiz yerə gedin. İşıqlı, məşğul əraziyə, mağazaya, otelə və ya polis bölməsinə gedin. Cinayət barədə polisə məlumat verin. Əgər xəsarət alırsınızsa və ya təhlükə altındasınızsa, kimsədən yerli təcili yardım nömrənizə (ABŞ və Kanadada 911, Avropa İttifaqı üzrə 112, Birləşmiş Krallıqda 999) zəng etməsini xahiş edin. siyahısına baxın təcili nömrələr digər ölkələr üçün.
  • İzlənilən yerə tək getməyin. Xəritədə telefonunuz evdə, avtomobildə və ya uzaq bir küçədə göstərilirsə, bu məlumatı polisə verin və onların hərəkətə keçməsinə icazə verin. Sadə bir götürmə kimi görünsə də, onu tək ziyarət etmək risklidir.
  • Telefonun tapıldığını bildirən mesajlara qarşı diqqətli olun. Fırıldaqçılar giriş səhifəsinə keçidlə telefonunuzun olduğunu iddia edən saxta mətnlər və e-poçtlar göndərirlər. Şifrənizi istəyirlər. Yalnız özünüz daxil etdiyiniz rəsmi Apple və ya Google vebsaytından istifadə edin.
  • Telefonunuz və ya hesablarınızla "kömək etməyi" təklif edən yad adamdan çəkinin. Parol və ya doğrulama kodunu təhvil verməyin.
  • Telefonun qaytarılması üçün fidyə ödəməyin. Əgər kimsə pul istəsə, polisə xəbər verin.

Step 1: check whether it is truly lost

Əşyaları kilidləməyə başlamazdan əvvəl axtarışa bir neçə dəqiqə vaxt ayırın. Bir çox "itirilmiş" telefonlar ən son olduğunuz yerdədir.

  1. Check every pocket and bag compartment. Look in the lining of a coat and the bottom of a bag.
  2. Look at the last place you used it. Check the seat, table, counter, bathroom shelf, bench or taxi.
  3. Ask the staff. Cafes, shops, hotels, transport staff and venue security often have a lost property box. Give your name and a description of the phone and case.
  4. Ring your number. Use a borrowed phone, a hotel landline or a calling site on a computer. Even a silent phone may vibrate.
  5. Use the sound feature in Find My or Find Hub. It plays a loud tone for about two minutes even when the phone is on silent.
  6. Contact the transport company. If you left it on a train, bus, plane or taxi, contact the company's lost property office. Many have an online form.

If you cannot find it within a few minutes, or if you think it was taken, move to the next steps without delay.

Step 2: locate, lock and, if needed, erase

Both Apple and Google provide free tools to find, lock and erase a lost device. They only work if they were set up before the phone went missing and if the phone is switched on and connected, or has been recently.

On an iPhone

  1. On another device or a computer, go to the iCloud website and sign in with your Apple account. You can also use the Find My app on a family member's iPhone or iPad, using the guest option if available.
  2. Select your iPhone from the device list to see its last known location.
  3. Choose Mark as Lost (Lost Mode). This locks the phone with a passcode, can show a message and phone number on the screen, and suspends Apple Pay on the device.
  4. If you are sure it is gone for good, choose Erase This Device to remove your data. After an erase, Find My may stop working for that phone, so use this only when you accept that you may not get it back.
  5. Remove the device from your account only after it is recovered or you have decided to replace it.

Newer iPhones also have Stolen Device Protection, which adds extra security when the phone is away from familiar places. See iPhone stolen device protection and recovery key lockout for how it works.

On an Android phone

  1. On a computer or another phone, go to Google's Find Hub (formerly called Find My Device) and sign in with the Google account that is on the lost phone.
  2. Select the phone to see its last known location, play a sound, or secure it.
  3. Choose Secure device to lock the screen and sign out of your Google account. You can add a message and a phone number to the lock screen.
  4. Choose Erase device only when you are ready to lose the data on the phone. After the erase, you cannot locate it.
  5. If you use a Samsung phone, the Samsung Find service offers similar tools through a Samsung account.

What if tracking does not work

  • The phone may be switched off, out of battery or in airplane mode. The service often shows the last known place before it went offline.
  • Location services may have been turned off. Lock the phone anyway.
  • A thief may have turned off the network. Lock and erase commands wait and run when the phone next connects.
  • If Find My or Find Hub was never set up, you cannot use these tools. Go straight to the carrier, account and bank steps.

Telefonu hesabınızdan çox tez silməyin

Removing a device from your Apple or Google account may stop you from locking or tracking it. Wait until you have recovered it or have chosen to replace it.

Step 3: call your carrier

Mobil provayderiniz nömrənizi və hesabınızı qoruya bilər. Oğru ittihamlar qaldıra, mətn mesajlarınızı təsdiq kodları ilə qəbul edə və ya nömrənizi başqa SİM-ə köçürməyə cəhd edə bilər.

  1. Phone the carrier from a borrowed phone or use the carrier website. Provide your name, account number and a security PIN if you set one.
  2. Onlardan xətti dayandırmağı və ya kilidləməyi xahiş edin. Bu, zəngləri, mətnləri və məlumatları bloklayır. O, həmçinin nömrənizin icazəsiz istifadəsinin qarşısını alır.
  3. Oğurlanıbsa, telefonun IMEI-ni bloklamağı xahiş edin. IMEI unikal aparat nömrəsidir və bloklanmış telefon bir çox ölkədə əsas şəbəkələrdə istifadə edilə bilməz. Böyük Britaniyada əsas daşıyıcılar blok siyahısını paylaşır və bir çox başqa ölkələrdə də eyni fikir tətbiq olunur. IMEI-nizi telefonun qutusunda, qəbzdə, istehsalçı ilə onlayn hesabınızda və ya eyni SIM-li başqa telefonda *#06# yığmaqla tapın.
  4. Ask about a replacement SIM or eSIM. You can keep your number and move it to a new phone.
  5. Set a PIN or password on your account. This helps protect against SIM swapping. Read SIM swapping for more about this risk.
  6. Ask about insurance and device protection. Your carrier, bank or credit card may offer cover for a stolen phone.

If you are travelling abroad, ring the carrier's international number, or use a hotel phone. If your phone used an eSIM, read eSIM trapped on a broken, lost or water damaged phone while travelling.

Step 4: protect your accounts

Your phone is the key to many accounts. Even a locked phone can show notifications and codes on the lock screen, depending on your settings. Move quickly to protect the important accounts.

Order of priority

  1. Your Apple or Google account. This controls your backups, photos, passwords and location. Change the password from a trusted computer.
  2. Your main email. Email can reset the password for nearly everything else.
  3. Your bank, card and payment apps. See the section below.
  4. Social media and messaging apps. Change passwords and sign out of all devices.
  5. Work and school accounts. Tell your employer or school IT help desk if your phone has work data or access.
  6. Password manager. Change the master password if the app was open on the phone.
  7. Cloud storage and photo services. Sign out of the lost device.

Use security settings to sign out the lost phone

Most services let you see signed in devices and remove them. Look for "Devices" or "Security" in each account's settings. Remove the lost phone, then change the password.

Authenticator apps and two factor codes

If your authenticator app was on the stolen phone, you may be locked out of some accounts. Use backup codes if you saved them, or the account recovery process of each service. Read authenticator app lost during phone upgrade or screen shatter for the options. Also see two factor authentication and SMS lockout.

For a deeper clean up, read stolen laptop or phone remote wipe and account lockdown.

Step 5: bank and payment safety

A stolen phone can be used to move money, so act on payments early. You do not need to be at home to do this.

  1. Phone your bank or card issuer from a borrowed phone. Use the number on the back of your card, in your bank's website or a trusted source. Do not use a number from a text message.
  2. Ask them to freeze or cancel the cards linked to the phone. This includes debit cards, credit cards and any cards saved in a mobile wallet.
  3. Remove cards from your mobile wallet remotely. Apple's Lost Mode suspends Apple Pay. In Google Wallet, you can remove cards through Find Hub or your Google account. Your bank can also disable the digital token.
  4. Review recent transactions. Look for payments you did not make, and report them at once. Most banks protect you from fraud when you report it quickly, though the rules differ by country.
  5. Block mobile banking access for the device. Ask the bank to remove the phone from your trusted devices. Change your online banking password and PIN.
  6. Peer to peer pul proqramları kimi ödəniş proqramlarını yoxlayın. İtirilmiş telefondan çıxın və parolları dəyişin. Özünüz edə bilmirsinizsə, provayderdən hesabı kilidləməyi xahiş edin.
  7. Fırıldaq zənglərinə diqqət yetirin. Oğurluqdan sonra fırıldaqçılar özlərini bankınız kimi göstərərək zəng edə bilərlər. Həqiqi bank tam PIN, parol və ya birdəfəlik kod tələb etməyəcək.
  8. Qeydləri saxlayın. Vaxtı, danışdığınız şəxsin adını və istənilən istinad nömrələrini yazın.

Kart və ya nağd pul da götürülübsə, siz uzaqda olduğunuz müddətdə əvəzedici pula ehtiyacınız var. Bax telefon, cüzdan və ya açarsız qapalı vəziyyətdə.

Step 6: report it

A report helps with insurance, with your carrier and, in some cases, with the recovery of the device.

Police

  • Report a theft to the local police. Give the make, model, colour, case and any unique marks. Provide the IMEI if you know it. Get a report number or a copy of the report.
  • Report a loss to the lost property service. Many cities and transport systems keep a record of items handed in.
  • Report it at the place where it happened. A hotel, venue or airline may have security footage or a lost property team.
  • If you are abroad, report to local police and keep the report. Your embassy or consulate can help with replacement travel documents if your passport also went missing. Read lost passport or travel documents.

Insurance

  • Check travel insurance, home contents insurance and card benefits. Many policies have a time limit for reporting, such as 24 to 48 hours.
  • Keep receipts and the police report. You will need proof of ownership and purchase.
  • Do not throw away the box. It holds the IMEI and serial number.

Step 7: get in touch with people

When your phone is gone, so are your contacts, your messages and your habits of calling. Make a short plan to reach the people who matter.

  1. Let a close contact know first. Use a borrowed phone, an email account, a messaging website or a hotel computer. Say that your phone is lost, how to reach you and whether you are safe.
  2. Share a temporary contact method. A borrowed number, a hotel phone number or a new email address will do.
  3. Ask a friend to warn your wider circle. A post on social media from a friend may help, but do not post your location or travel plans.
  4. Let your employer or school know if you need to. Give them another way to reach you.
  5. Warn contacts about scam messages. A thief may message your contacts asking for money. Tell people not to send any.
  6. Use web versions of messaging apps. Many apps can be used on a computer once you sign in. Be careful to sign out after, particularly on a shared computer.
  7. Recover phone numbers from your accounts. Your email, cloud contacts and social media may hold them. Sign in from a trusted computer.

If you never learned any numbers by heart, make a card now. See pre-trip phone readiness.

Step 8: get home or to your next stop

Without a phone, you must manage maps, tickets and payments differently.

  • Use paper maps and ask for directions. Tourist offices, hotels and shops can give you a free map. See the section on navigating without a phone in phone battery dies while you are out.
  • Ask your hotel to print tickets and bookings. Many hotels will print a boarding pass or a reservation for free or a small fee.
  • Use public transport with cash or a card. Buy tickets at machines or from staff.
  • Call a taxi through a hotel or a shop. Use licensed vehicles only.
  • Ask for help at your embassy if documents are missing. A consulate can issue an emergency travel document.
  • Contact your airline or train operator. Explain that your phone, which held your ticket, is lost. Many will reissue a ticket at the airport with a passport or ID.
  • If you have no money, ask a trusted contact to send some. Money transfer services may allow collection with ID. Your bank or card issuer can often send emergency cash or a replacement card.

Replace the phone and restore your life

When you have finished the urgent steps, plan the replacement. You do not have to buy the most expensive model. A basic phone can get you through the rest of your trip.

  1. Get a replacement SIM or eSIM from your carrier. Take photo ID. Many shops can set up a new SIM in minutes.
  2. Buy a low cost phone if you are away from home. A simple handset is enough to call, text and use maps.
  3. Sign in to your Apple or Google account. Restore your contacts, photos and apps from backup.
  4. Set up a new passcode and biometric unlock. Choose a code that is not your birth date.
  5. Re-enable two factor authentication. Add the new phone to each important account.
  6. Re-add cards to your mobile wallet. Use new card numbers if your bank issued them.
  7. Turn on Find My or Find Hub on the new phone. It takes a minute, and it makes the next loss far easier to handle.
  8. Turn on automatic backups. Cloud backups should run each night.

Prevent the next loss

  • Turn on a strong passcode and automatic lock after 30 seconds to one minute.
  • Keep Find My or Find Hub enabled at all times.
  • Kilid ekranında mesaj və əlaqə nömrəsini göstərin. Özünüzün deyil, ailə üzvünün nömrəsindən istifadə edin.
  • IMEI-nizi yazın və onu təhlükəsiz yerdə saxlayın. Buludda saxlanılan qutunun və ya parametrlər ekranının şəkli kömək edəcək.
  • Set up a SIM PIN and a carrier account PIN.
  • Keep your phone in a front pocket or zipped bag, not a back pocket or the table. Thieves on bikes, scooters and in crowds snatch phones from hands and tables.
  • Do not use your phone near the edge of a platform or road.
  • Back up your photos and contacts.
  • Parol menecerindən istifadə edin və ehtiyat kodları kağız üzərində saxlayın.
  • Açar nömrələri olan kart götürün.

Set up the lost phone message today

Add a line to your lock screen that says "If found, please call" followed by the number of a person you trust. An honest finder can then contact a person you trust even if they cannot unlock your phone. Use a number that is not stored only on the phone.

Fake found phone messages are a common scam

If you get a text, email or call saying your phone was found and asking you to click a link or enter your Apple or Google password, do not do it. Go to the official Find My or Find Hub site by typing the address yourself. Real recovery messages do not ask for your passcode.

Special situations

Lost phone with children or health data

If your phone holds a child's school contact, a medical app, a diabetes monitor or two factor codes for a medical account, tell the relevant provider. Keep a paper list of medication and doctor numbers. For important health devices, ask your clinic what to do if the phone is gone.

Lost phone at an airport or on a flight

Ask the airline's staff, the airport lost property office and security. Report quickly before the flight leaves. If you are boarding without a phone, use a printed boarding pass and photo ID.

Phone taken during a protest or in a conflict area

Take extra care. Contact a trusted person, change passwords from a safe computer, and think about who might view your messages and contacts. Seek advice from a digital security help line in your country.

Work phone

If the phone belongs to your employer, tell your manager and IT team straight away. They can wipe it remotely. Do not try to recover it alone.

A calm timeline for the first day

A written timeline helps when you feel rushed. Use these time blocks as a guide, and adapt them to your situation.

The first 10 minutes

Check that you are safe. Search the last place you had the phone and ring it from a borrowed handset. If it is still unfound, sign in to Find My or Find Hub from a trusted device and play a sound or mark it as lost. These steps are free and take very little time.

The first hour

Call your carrier and suspend the line. Call your bank or card issuer and freeze cards that were saved on the phone. Change the password for your email and for your Apple or Google account. If the phone was stolen, go to a police station or call the non-emergency line and ask for a report number.

The first day

Tell your family or a close friend what happened and how to reach you. Contact your employer or school if the phone held work or study access. Check recent bank activity again, and look at the sign in alerts in your email. Buy a basic replacement phone or a replacement SIM if you need a way to call and text.

The first week

Restore from backup, add your cards to the new wallet, and turn on two factor codes again. Keep checking statements for odd charges. File any insurance claim, with the police report, receipts and IMEI. Update your emergency card with a new number if you changed it.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Chasing a thief or going to a tracked address alone.
  • Waiting a day before locking the phone.
  • Clicking links in "found phone" messages.
  • Erasing the device before you have tried to locate it. An erase stops tracking.
  • Forgetting the SIM and the eSIM. The number is a gateway to your accounts.
  • Ignoring email security. Email resets everything else.
  • Not reporting the theft. Insurers and carriers may refuse to help without a report.
  • Using a stranger's computer without signing out.
  • Reusing the same password on the new phone.

Tez-tez verilən suallar

Should I erase my phone straight away?

Həmişə deyil. Əvvəlcə onu tapmağa və Tap My və ya Find Hub ilə kilidləməyə çalışın və əlaqə mesajı göstərin, çünki silmə əlavə izləməyi dayandırır. Telefonu yalnız onun yaxşılığa doğru getdiyinə və ya ifşa edilməməli olan məlumatlara malik olduğuna əminsinizsə və son ehtiyat nüsxəniz varsa onu silin.

Əgər oğru mənim telefonumdan istifadə edibsə, pulumu geri ala bilərəmmi?

Often yes, if you report it quickly, though protection varies by country and by the way the money was spent. Call your bank or card issuer from a borrowed phone, freeze the cards and report any payments you did not make. Keep a record of who you spoke with and any reference numbers.

How do I log in to my accounts if my phone gets the verification codes?

Use backup codes if you saved them, or the account recovery option of each service from a trusted computer. Get a replacement SIM or eSIM from your carrier so that text codes reach you again. Some services allow you to verify your identity another way, and it can take a day or more, so start early.

What if I am abroad and have no money, no phone and no ID?

Go to a safe public place, contact the police, and ask your bank or card issuer for emergency help. Your embassy or consulate can help with travel documents and, in serious cases, can contact family for you. Ask a hotel, a library or a shop to let you use a phone or a computer to reach someone you trust.
